RIP Robin Williams

This is just a quick post. After hearing the news about Mr. William's death I was deeply saddened, like so many others. I had heard sometime ago that he was an avid gamer, one of those games being World of Warcraft. While I haven't been playing for a little while, I started up my starter account and headed to the Shrine of the Fallen Warrior to pay my respects.

I would like to say thank you to Robin Williams for all of the laughs and moments of joy that he has brought to so many people, he will most certainly not be forgotten.

I would also like to urge you, if you are feeling depressed... please, please, please talk to someone about it. There is always hope in the darkest of times. Life is not like WoW, there is no resurrect button. Your life is valuable and suicide should never be the answer.

100 Post!

Holy crap it's here! After 5 years of this blog I finally hit my 100th post...You think I might have gotten there sooner :P

Ah well on with it,

So first order of business is something that I'm thrilled about...I finally got my Raven Lord mount! :D Been after that for 2 years and it finally dropped! Now if Alar would be so kind as to grace me with it's astounding presence then life would be complete :p

Aside from mounts, my pet collection has grown yet again.. I'm up to 520 pets. I'm still hoping to increase that whenever the prices are right for pets :P

My pets can be found here

Other than that news nothing new has really been up...been doing my usual weekly raid runs, not much in the mood to be leveling anything and DPS raid finder queue for my lock is terrible xD

I'm sorry that my 100th post was a bit underwhelming...WoW has just been kinda going slow for me atm, not much to do till new expansion drops (which I'm looking forward to)

Thank you all for being with me through 100 posts! <3 br=""> -Cyphale

01/15/2014

It has been a long time! I'll just get right into it. My school semesters have gotten a bit lighter since switching majors so I would like to think that I could post more here...but we'll see how that goes.

The whole Ravencrest Alliance thing didn't last long, I got my shaman to 79...and as much as I loved the fem. draenei animations and model...I'm a horde player at heart

I took a little break for a bit but then started my account back up this past September and have been happily playing since.

I've done all of raid finder SoO and got my dk full 528 geared, so I'm working on getting my priest and warlock there.

Also very recently some of the old members from my guild have come back to wow, and oh man, the guild feels even more like home now :)

While on the topic of my death knight, I have gotten several compliments on my transmog. So I'll list the xmog pieces I used. I wasn't planning on making this set originally, but while going through AQ I had the pants drop (lololol) and wanted to try and make a set around them

(And Im contrasting what it looks like on a male orc... just isn't the same on them :P)

The pieces are as follows:

Helmet: Not displayed
Shoulders: Warlord's Iron-Epaulets
Back: Not displayed
Chest: Glorious Breastplate
Wrist: Not displayed
Hands: Flameguard Gauntlets
Waist: Acherus Knight's Girdle (Note: My belt is transmogg'd but the Acherus Knight's Girdle is an invisible belt)
Pants: Legplates of Blazing Light
Boots: Magma Tempered Boots

I think that this transmog looks more suited for a paladin, I was drawn to it because (aside from loving my slutmogs) the pants for it are somewhat unique. As I see lots of mogs like this with more bikini bottom pants and I like how this is just a bit different.

On a sidenote from wow, I finally got into the Hearthstone beta yesterday :D (happy early b-day present for me :P) I had heard good things about it, and was recommended to try it. Although I'm not the best at it, I have been having a lot of fun with it :D

So there it is...Happy belated 2014 everyone

Ravencrest!

Greetings! I am here once again! As you might have read that I made another little return back in February... it was nice to come back. I did a lot of pet battles and pet farming but it was a little boring playing alone...so after my month was up I didn't come back for April...but I am back now :D Some old aquaintences and myself have rerolled on Ravencrest and are giving this Alliance thing a try :P I'm leveling a class that I have never gotten to max level before (Shaman) and so far it's not so bad! I'm not sure how long this will go on for...so I'm just going to enjoy it as long as it lasts :p

Another Little Return

So this post won't be saying too much, bur as the title suggests I have bought another month of WoW time just to have some fun with. Basically when MoP first came out, my main goal was getting to level 90...and after I did that I was kinda burnt out on the game so I put it down for a few months. Now I am back just doing little things, casually leveling some alliance toons, getting into pet collecting and whatnot. If I find anything worth posting about I will try to get it up on here and/or get some videos uploaded.

May your blades never dull...or rust! :P

WoW Hiatus...Again

Sorry that I haven't updated this in awhile, but it was true that I came back to WoW after not playing for about a year. It was nice to be back, grind and farm for more pets, mounts, items etc. that I didn't have. And I also tried out Pandaria and I loved it. The landscapes were beautiful, with my favourite (yes, there is a U in favourite for me, I'm Canadian :P) being The Jade Forest. I got my death knight and my preist to 90, geared up in some dungeons and then hopped into raid finder. I tried a little pvp (I don't think that I gave it too much of a fair go...but friends were more focused on raiding. :P) I admit I did have some good times. Got my cloud serpent mount, enjoyed the pet battles, farmed some phoenix hatchlings and sold those for 2k a piece ...but then it just stopped being fun. I think mostly because I picked up being guild master for Vicious Tactics after our old gm and most of the guild members left. Tried recruiting and whatnot but no luck on a low pop server, and we could have server transferred, but in all honestly I liked the low pop server feel for some things. Well that was until bliz made the cross realm zones a reality >.< Trying to find rare spawns or going afk in the middle of nowhere was gone.

Anyways I guess the point of this is...if it hasn't already been assumed because of my lack of posts, I am on yet another WoW hiatus. This is not to say that I'll never come back...because there is always a possibility. I plan on buying the next exp. and atleast getting to max level just to keep up with it. I'll still be posting on my youtube channel, and time permitting I want to try to blog on The Daily Phale more. If plans do actually go according to plan this time, I will be sure to post it here.

Resigned

Well if you haven't noticed my blog here has gotten a most needed face lift!

So moving right along... After 30ish Magisters Terrace runs, I finally got my Swift White Hawkstrider! The drop rate is supposedly 4%, which isn't terrible, I read about it taking people way longer...so I consider myself lucky :p

However as happy as I am about the hawkstrider, there is still farming to be done! I am after now Reins of the Blue Proto Drake from Utgarde Pinnacle, Reins of the Green Proto Drake from the Oracles egg, and Rivendare's Death Charger from Stratholme.

As a death knight, the Skadi run for the blue drake is rather easy, I haven't found that I drop below 90% as blood. And as for the Stratholme run, well I don't have to worry about what spec I go into there as :p

As far as I know, the Blue Drake drop rate is 1.6%, Green is 5% from the egg, and the Death Charger is 0.8%. So its really up to the RNG (random number generator) when I get these mounts.

In addition to this farming, I'm also working on getting my Tol Barad and Argent Tournament mounts aswell. I'm not quite sure why I didn't do the Argent Tournament stuff when it came out...but it's never too late :D Doing faction dailies isn't really the funnest thing, but it can be rewarding. I already have my Flameward Hippogryph from the Mount Hyjal dailies, I'm 1 daily away from getting the non combat pet Pebble from Thereazane dailies...so its just all a matter of pushing yourself to do them everyday >.<

Well that's where things are at with me! Remember the Sunwell!

Lostmaster?

Yeah the banner still hasn't changed >.< I'm looking into remembering to fix that!

Anyways, it looks like it about time to update!

Remember (or not) how I was grinding rep with the Skyguard? Well I got my Nether Ray, I also got my Talbuks, and my 100 pets achieve. It really has been a busy month of dailies, grinding rep, pvp, dungeons and leveling lol. I'm not exactly sure where I will focus most of my attention next. The Loremaster achievement I have glanced at once or twice, it would be so badass to have since literally no one on my server has it...but then again its like "ok, have to do around 3000 quests...how do I approach this?" Its almost like the achievement for completing 3000 quests, but they're different. 3000 quests alone awards you with the title the Seeker, and it also doesn't give you a tabard like the Loremaster does. Here is a quick little breakdown from WoWWiki:

" The Horde requires a grand total of 3,260 quests to obtain this achievement, separated by continent:

  • 550 in Eastern Kingdoms (quests that the Quest Log lists under names of zones (including instances) of Eastern Kingdoms)

  • 685 in Kalimdor (quests listed under names of zones (including instances) of Kalimdor)

  • 595 in Outland
    • 90 in Hellfire Peninsula
    • 68 in Terokkar Forest
    • 86 in Blade's Edge Mountains
    • 54 in Zangarmarsh
    • 87 in Nagrand
    • 90 in Shadowmoon Valley
    • 120 in Netherstorm

  • 875 in Northrend
    • 150 in Borean Tundra
    • 100 in Zul'Drak
    • 105 in Howling Fjord
    • 100 in Storm Peaks
    • 130 in Dragonblight
    • 75 in Grizzly Hills
    • 75 in Sholazar Basin
    • 140 in Icecrown

  • 555 in Cataclysm
    • 130 in Vashj'ir
    • 115 in Mount Hyjal
    • 110 in Deepholm
    • 105 in Uldum
    • 95 in Twilight Highlands"
(information taken from http://www.wowwiki.com/The_Loremaster)

I mean, I have gone after more bizarre stuff in the past, hell, I have 105 non combat pets :p But I'm kinda at a disadvantage and advantage for this achieve.

On one hand, I'm a death knight, and I have done next to no old world quests, cause I didn't need to level there. On the other hand, I'm a death knight :p and that could work in my favor because for all of old world I would get to start at the beginner quest hubs so its easy to know where I need to begin.

Anyways that has been floating around my brain...I haven't forgotten about my movies and whatnot, I have some stuff fraps'd but I'm not sure if it will ever get made into a youtube video :p Also parodies aren't out of the question, now that I have a bit better equipment for recording. I just find that you can't force a good parody out. The best ones I've done just spawned from me listening to a song and the chorus or a parody line just coming out. So as I can't really give an eta on that, I will say that its highly possible that inspiration may come. I am also open to suggestion, within reason...I don't think it would go over well to make a parody of a screamo song cause well...I can't exactly scream like that :p

Tis all for now, glory to the sin'dorei and all that.

Netherwing Drake and MoP Stuff!

Well here I find myself on a lovely Saturday afternoon, and as much as I'd love to be rep farming I decided to take a little break to post here.

1st order of business...This banner will change, its due time :|

Secondly, I'm quite enjoying my revisit to WoW. I tried out the raid finder and did the Fall of Deathwing, twas pretty good. Also did heroic ZG...and I'm not sure how to feel about it, not really a fan of some of the old content being remade, guess I'm just not a big fan of change :p

On another note, I finally...after a good ol' rep grinding got my Netherwing Drake. You're given the choice to get 1 drake after you hit exalted with the Netherwing, and I chose the Veridian Netherwing Drake.

So since the farm for this mount is over, I've started questing for the Skyguard for a Nether Ray, the rep grind never truly ends lol.

Aside from that, I got my 25 tabards achieve as well, the Tabard of the Archiver is rather nifty. But its not as nifty as the last thing I'm going to mention!

I've been looking a little bit into MoP (Mists of Pandaria) and from what I've seen with people playing the beta, I love the warlock changes so far. At times I (personally) couldn't help but feel that they were one of the classes that blizzard sometimes overlooked. But in MoP they're getting a good refresh. From new spells, to revamped animation, new pets, revamped talents etc. So I'm liking what I'm seeing so far, but I will only be able to give a verdict when and if I play a lock in MoP and get to lvl 90.

Another thing that I'm happy about is the non combat pet battle system! :D I knew that there was a reason that I aimlessly collected them lol. But seriously, I like the fact that its something to do while you're waiting in que for a dungeon or something. I also like the fact that blizz wants to make it so that your pet collection isn't just on one character anymore. As much as I spoiled my DK with all the pets, I could finally be able to bust out any pet on any character and have 'em by my side in combat! :p

Scroll of Resurrection

My oh my its been a long time! I am pleased to announce that after almost a years break that I have returned to WoW! Its never felt so good to log on and collect more mindless achievements and pets :D

And of course playing alone is no fun...so I scrolled up some of my minions and now we're back to doing the same ol' stuff we were doing before we stopped playing :p

There are so many things that I want to try doing...I want a pvp set on my lock and a better pve set, I want to get my dk pvp geared, I want a resto pvp set on my druid and a pve resto set...Gah just so many things. And I can't forget about my pet collection, going for the 100 pets, I only need 5 more :D

So I'm not entirely sure if/when I would be doing any videos ...but it is a possibility, seeing as I'm done school for the summer I will no doubt have more free time. This semester had me packed for work :|

But I certainly do want to get back into posting and video making. The exploration got nerfed in cata imo, (flying everywhere doesn't make it nearly as rewarding) but if I find anything/do anything of remote interest I shall post it here. Also, (provided the time, and inspiration are right) more parodies could be a possibility.

This here was just a quick little post to say that I've been ressed :D
